Manage successful-check-in notifications for emergency contacts
By default, Snug gives each emergency contact the option to receive an email whenever you check in successfully. Each emergency contact decides independently whether to receive these emails and can opt out later. Emergency contacts still receive missed-check-in alerts regardless of whether they choose to receive successful-check-in emails.
These messages are different than missed check-in notifications:
- Successful-check-in emails are optional. An emergency contact chooses whether to receive an email after you check in
- Missed-check-in communications are part of Snug's safety response. Depending on your plan, emergency contacts receive an SMS alert or a call from Snug Dispatch when you miss a check-in
Replying to a Snug-generated email or text does not send a message to the Snug customer. Contact the customer directly if you need to reach them.
Successful-check-in emails include:
- The time you checked in
- The city where you checked in
- Your quote of the day
Turn daily check-in emails on or off
- Open the Snug app
- Open Menu in the upper-left corner
- Select Change Emergency Contacts
- Turn Daily check-in emails on or off
- Select Done
How emergency contacts opt in
- Open the welcome text from Snug
- Select the confirmation link
- Confirm that you agree to be the person's emergency contact
- Choose the option to receive daily check-in emails
If the contacts are already on your account
Turning the option back on does not automatically send a new invitation to existing contacts. If an existing contact wants to opt in later, you can:
- Remove and re-add the contact to trigger a new welcome text with a confirmation link; or
- Email support@snugsafety.com for help
