Downgrade, cancel, or close your Snug account
Your needs can change, and we are happy to help you choose the right next step. You can downgrade from a paid plan to the Free Plan and continue using Snug, or you can close your account if you no longer intend to use Snug.
These are different actions:
- Downgrade means moving from a paid plan to the Free Plan while keeping your Snug account active
- Close your account means canceling Snug entirely because you do not plan to use it in the future
Move from a paid plan to the Free Plan
To downgrade from a paid plan to the Free Plan, email support@snugsafety.com. There is currently no in-app downgrade option, and subscriptions cannot be canceled through the Stripe billing portal.
What happens after you downgrade
If you downgrade without receiving a refund, your paid features remain available through the end of the paid billing period. Your account then moves to the Free Plan.
If you receive a refund, paid service ends immediately and your account moves to the Free Plan.
Close your Snug account
Close your account if you no longer intend to use Snug. This cancels Snug entirely rather than moving you to the Free Plan. After the account is closed, you will not receive check-in reminders, and Snug will no longer notify your emergency contacts.
- Open the Snug app
- Open Menu
- Select Settings
- Select Cancel account
- Follow the instructions to confirm
You can also close your account by phone:
- Call +1 (844) 243-9110 from any phone
- Press 2
- Follow the automated instructions to confirm the cancellation
Deleting or uninstalling the Snug app does not close your account or cancel a paid subscription.
Confirm that cancellation is complete
After canceling, confirm that your Snug account is closed. If you had a paid plan, also confirm that the paid subscription is no longer active.
If you do not receive a cancellation confirmation, cannot confirm both statuses, or see a charge after cancellation, email support@snugsafety.com. Include the phone number associated with the account and the date you canceled. If possible, include a copy or screenshot of the confirmation and the unexpected charge.
If you need help
If you have questions or need help changing your plan, email support@snugsafety.com. A member of the Snug team will help you understand your options and next steps.
