Where Snug is available

New Snug accounts are available to people who live in:

  • All 50 U.S. states
  • Washington, DC
  • Puerto Rico

A U.S. mobile phone number is required to create and verify an account. People who live outside these supported locations cannot create a new Snug account at this time.

Use Snug while traveling internationally

If you already have a Snug account, you can continue checking in while traveling outside the United States.

The app needs Wi-Fi or cellular data for an in-app check-in. You can also call +1 (844) 243-9110 from a working phone and follow the prompts to check in.

Snug uses your phone's local time zone so your check-in remains at the same local clock time as you travel. Allow location access and open the app after arriving so Snug can recognize the new time zone. See Use Snug while traveling or changing time zones.

Missed check-ins while abroad

With the Free Plan, Snug continues to send missed-check-in SMS alerts to your emergency contacts. The alert includes your location if Snug was able to gather it.

With the Dispatch Plan, a Snug dispatcher can still call you and your emergency contacts. Snug Dispatch cannot coordinate a wellness check outside the United States and its territories.

Before traveling, make sure your phone and mobile plan can receive text messages and calls abroad. International calling, messaging, and data charges may apply depending on your provider.
