How the Dispatch Plan works

The Dispatch Plan adds professional response after a missed check-in. A Snug dispatcher attempts to confirm that you are safe, contacts your emergency contacts when needed, and may coordinate a wellness check with local emergency services.

The plan includes up to three daily check-in times. See Compare Snug plans and pricing for current prices and a complete feature comparison.

Who may benefit from the Dispatch Plan

The Dispatch Plan may be helpful if you:

  • Live alone and want professional follow-up after a missed check-in
  • Want a dispatcher to call you first, reducing the chance that family or other emergency contacts are contacted because of a false alarm
  • Do not have an emergency contact who is always available
  • Have emergency contacts who live far away
  • Want an additional layer of support beyond alerts to friends or family
  • Want Snug to coordinate a wellness check when neither you nor your contacts can be reached

Important: In addition to responding after a missed check-in, the Dispatch Plan includes an in-app button that connects you directly to Snug Dispatch if you need help. If you are in immediate or life-threatening danger, call local emergency services directly.

What happens after a missed check-in

If you have not checked in by 10 minutes after your selected check-in time, a Snug dispatcher will call you.

  • If you answer and confirm that you are safe, the dispatcher stops the calling process and does not call your emergency contacts
  • If you do not answer, the dispatcher leaves a message and calls your emergency contacts in the order shown in the Snug app
  • If your safety has not been confirmed 15 minutes after the deadline, the dispatcher repeats the calling process
  • If no one is reached after two rounds of calls, Dispatch coordinates a wellness check with local emergency services
  • A dispatcher may coordinate a wellness check sooner if an emergency contact requests one

If an emergency contact confirms that you are safe or agrees to check on you, the dispatcher stops making calls and does not request a wellness check. You must still check in through the Snug app or by calling +1 (844) 243-9110 to reset Snug and resume future reminders.

Sign up for the Dispatch Plan

  1. Open the Snug app
  2. Select Upgrade in the upper-right corner
  3. Follow the instructions to pay by credit card or Apple Pay
  4. Add your home address

Dispatch service becomes active immediately after successful payment. Keep your home address current so Dispatch has a fallback location if your device location is unavailable.

Pay for a loved one's Dispatch Plan

An emergency contact, family member, or other trusted person can pay for a loved one's Dispatch Plan.

Email support@snugsafety.com and include:

  • The Snug customer's name
  • The phone number associated with their Snug account

Snug Support will help you complete the subscription setup.

Save the Snug phone numbers

Save these numbers in your phone and ask your emergency contacts to save them too. This helps ensure Snug's text messages and Dispatch calls are recognized and not mistaken for spam.

Dispatch calls may come from either Dispatch number.

Wellness-check coverage and limitations

Snug Dispatch coordinates wellness checks throughout all 50 states, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and other U.S. territories.

Snug can request a wellness check, but local emergency agencies decide whether to send first responders and how quickly they can respond. See What is a wellness check? for important limitations.

If you travel outside the United States and its territories, Dispatch can still call you and your emergency contacts but cannot coordinate a wellness check abroad.
