Snug Location Settings FAQs
How does Snug use my location?
Snug uses your phone’s location to help emergency contacts or first responders find you if you ever miss a check-in.
How often does Snug check my location?
Snug checks your location about every 4 hours and again if you miss a check-in. This helps us share helpful information even if your phone is off, out of service, or has a dead battery, without unnecessary battery drain associated with constant location sharing.
Why does Snug need “Always Allow” location permission?
Snug needs background location access so we can share your most accurate location with your emergency contacts or first responders if you miss a check-in.
If your settings are “Only While Using the App,” the most recent location we’ll have is from the last time you opened Snug to check in—which may be outdated if something happens later in the day.
Does Snug keep my location history?
No. Snug only stores your most recent location, in case you miss your next check-in. We never keep a record of your past locations, and never sell or share your data.
How can I check or change my location settings?
- Open your Snug app
 - Tap Menu in the upper left corner
 - Tap Settings
 - Tap Go to iOS settings
 - Make sure Location says Always
