Choose your daily check-in time
Select a check-in time that works best for you – we recommend right after breakfast. You can choose any time between 5:30 AM and 9:30 PM.
Snug sends a few helpful reminders in advance of and after your check-in deadline:
- 3 Hours Before Check-In Time - Silent push notification
- 1 Hour Before Check-In Time - Regular push notification
- 10 Minutes Before Check-In Time - Regular push notification
- Check-In Time - Regular push notification and text message
- 2 Minutes After Check-In Time - Regular push notification and text message
- 10 Minutes after your missed check-in – Snug notifies your emergency contacts
Can I check in before my selected check-in time?
Yes! You can check in any time between 12 AM and your selected time.
Enable location permissions
If you miss a check-in, Snug will notify your emergency contacts and share your last known location so they can check on you.
Snug will not work without location permissions!
Dispatch Plan
If a Dispatch Plan user misses their checkin, a Snug Dispatcher will also have access to their last known location in order to assist emergency contacts or local first responders in checking on them.
Enable notification permissions (iOS only)
On iPhones, Snug will ask for permission to send you push notifications. Notifications are needed to remind you to check in on a daily basis and are important in preventing false alarms.

Add Emergency Contacts
If you miss your daily check-in, your emergency contacts will be notified and asked to check in on you. Select people you trust and can rely on in an emergency, like family, close friends, or trusted neighbors.
Add contacts
- Tap Add Contact
- Select or search for your contact's name
- Tap their mobile phone number so that they can receive Snug text messages
Set notification preferences
At the bottom of the screen you can set your preference for how often Snug will notify your contacts.
- If you choose “Only notify emergency contacts if I miss my check-in time” Snug will only contact them if you do not respond to your daily check-in.
- If you choose “Give contacts option to receive notifications every time I check in”, each contact will be able to choose whether or not they want to get an email confirmation every time you successfully check in. This is ideal for family members who want to keep an eye on elderly loved ones.
When you push the green save button, Snug will send your emergency contacts a text message that says:
“You are Annie's emergency contact on Snug (don't worry – all is well). Tap for more info: https://snugsafe.com/personalizedlink”
Choose your plan
Basic Plan (Free!)
- One daily check-in
- If you miss your daily check-in, Snug will send a text message to each of your emergency contacts with your last known location. It is up to them to reach out to you to make sure you’re ok. The basic version is 100% free.
Dispatch Plan ($19.99/mo or $199.99/yr)
- Up to 3 daily check-ins
- If you miss a check in, a Snug Dispatcher will call you directly to check if you're ok. If you don't answer, they will call each of your emergency contacts in order until someone either confirms you're ok, or agrees to check on you.
- If the dispatcher is unable to get confirmation that someone will look in on you, they will contact your local 911 dispatcher to request that first responders perform a wellness check to your last known location.
Paying for the Dispatch Plan
- You can pay for the Dispatch Plan using Apple Pay or a credit card. Snug does not keep your card information on file, it is securely stored with our Payment Processor, Stripe.
- If you are unsatisfied in the first 14 days, you can request a full refund. After that, you will receive a prorated refund.
